7-8 November 2011, Lake Kerkini, Greece 69 ind.observed at the river mouth with ca 50 Greater White-fronts. Source: LWfG Life+ project kick-off meeting team. - This is the highest count of LWfG at Lake Kerkini since December 1991 when 95-101 LWfG were counted. It is also the highest count of LWfG for the last 20 years in all sites in Greece (67 lessers at Evros Delta on February 1997).

4 October 2011, Gnevsdorf, Prignitz, Brandenburg, Germany 8 Lesser Whitefronts in a mixed flock of Greater Whitefronts and Tundra Beans observed. The flock was of two families with 1 and 3 juveniles respectively. This is the largest flock reported for Eastern Germany since mid 2000s (last bigger flock was 11 birds in autumn 2006 in Eastern Brandenburg). Source: Thomas Heinicke.

15 September 2011, Valdak Marshes, Porsanger, Norway The
main
flock
was
last
seen on 10 September, but according to satellite
transmitter data (from captive released birds), they are probably still

30 August 2011, Valdak Marshes, Porsanger, Norway The autumn staging period started when 13 adults and 16 young were observed on 16 August. By today a minimum of 76 LWfGs have been registered, of wich 28 adults, 44 juveniles and 4 subadults. 13 broods have been seen with an average of 3.4 goslings. Source: Tomas Aarvak & Ingar J. 24 May 2011, Valdak Marshes, Porsanger, Norway 16 LWFG observed. The staging period is still not over, but even so at least 35 different LWfGs have been using the marshes. Of these are 13 ad pairs and three adult females. This means a very positive population development (>15%) as compared to the two previous years! Source: Tomas Aarvak, BirdLife Norway.

28 April 2011 , Smedsbyfjärden, Luleå, Sweden 3 LWfG present. " Senaste veckan har det varit 3 fjällgäss i Smedsbyfjärden. 2 styck är nog ett par de går ihop hela tiden och den 3 fågeln är ett par meter ifrån. Fjällgåshanen i paret driver bort sädgäss när de kommer för nära fjällgässen. Det är 3 Adulta fåglar och inga ringar eller andra markeringar på fåglarna. Har sett dom på ca 120 meters avstånd i tubkikare. Ser fina ut, fin bläs och klar gul ögonring För 3-4 års sedan var det en ensam fjällgås i Smedsbyfjärden, den fågel var sedd bara i vatten." 21 April 2011, western Finland A 2nd-calendar year LWfG migrating north along the western coast in a flock of three Greylag Geese, observed at three different sites: Kalajoki, Vasanneva at 12:55; Pyhäjoki, Parhalahti; and Raahe, Ketunperä at 13:27. The first observation in Finland this spring, but possibly originating of the Swedish reintroduced population (based on the early observation date and the company). Source: Lintutiedotus.

| 9 April 2011, Nemunas Delta area, Lithuania 1 adult LWfG in a flock of 800 WFG on the grasslands ca 1,5 km SE of Lankupiai village. The site is situated ca 1.5 km south from the place where a LWfG was observed on 8 April 2010 (see observations in 2010). This is the first observation in Lithuania this spring.
